This is a supersonic fighter jet developed by South Korea. As a 4.5-generation fighter scheduled for induction into the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF), it is the final product of the KF-X (Korean Fighter eXperimental) project. This medium-class fighter development program was pursued to secure indigenous aircraft development capabilities and to meet the requirement of replacing aging fleets, such as the F-4 Phantom II and KF-5 Jegongho.
